The White House

Totem Studio Architects have worked with these clients since 1988, when we designed and built their original house. We were fortunate enough to be engaged by them again to undertake the Earthquake Rebuild of their home.

The floor plan was redesigned based on much the same footprint as the original house. The Ground Floor then carefully opened up to make a cohesive space for entertaining and the First Floor landing makes the most of the stunning view over Christchurch.

The house exterior  comprises of a painted brick cladding, Cambrian Slate roof tiles and Composite (aluminium and timber) windows and doors. The interior features a striking stained oak stair & painted balustrade, geometric roof lines and beautifully expressed brickwork.
