Ranui House

After first doing the smaller scale Residential Development on the site we were engaged to do the larger 6 story accommodation building with basement carparking comprising of 1,2 & 3 bedroom apartments for short term stay by cancer care patients and their families. The form size and massing, of the taller building in particular, was heavily influenced by planning requirements leading to an articulated residential aesthetic intended to breakdown the overall scale of the building

This aesthetic also had the great added benefit of having the building feel less institutional and more homely which considering the nature of the occupants and the health and personal issues they may be dealing with – was naturally of real added value.
