Nurse Maude ARC

The Aged Residential Care Building for Nurse Maude provides a place where (in the clients own words) its residents can enjoy "a sense of purpose, joy, meaning, control and dignity" and "a centre of excellence in clinical care and a vibrant residential community of individuals".

The ARC replaced an existing, smaller facility which was damaged beyond repair during the Christchurch Earthquakes. Totem Studio (then Trengrove Architects) were engaged by Nurse Maude to design this world- class care facility that houses 75 residents across 2 floors fulfilling our clients brief of providing a relaxed environment with private ensuite rooms, shared lounge and dining spaces and landscaped outdoor areas.
